Hi there, I’m Dr. Elena Shockman.

When I first started practicing veterinary medicine, I thought my career would be all about treating sick pets and performing surgeries, and while I still love that work, something unexpected happened along the way.

In the emergency room, I saw how many of those crises could have been prevented with the right guidance, the right supplements, and a little more connection between veterinarians and pet parents.That realization led me to create Paw & Pestle — a space where veterinary expertise meets everyday care. My background in Animal Bioscience, Microbiology, and years in critical care all shaped this mission: to make prevention easier, more trusted, and more accessible for everyone who loves their pets as much as I do.
